BESUT: A tahfiz student died after being electrocuted when he touched a lightbulb after washing his hands at a madrasah in Kampung Gong Penaga, Jabi.
The student, Muhammad Fahim Rasyidi Shariful Hadi, 18, from Klang, Selangor died while receiving treatment at Besut Hospital's emergency ward at 11.35pm.
District police chief, Superintendent Abdul Rozak Muhammad said Muhammad Fahmi said they received a distress call around 10.30pm.
He said the victim is believed to have touched a bulb after washing his hands.
The victim was then rushed to the Besut Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
