#SHOWBIZ: HK model stabbed to death in Bangkok

KUALA LUMPUR: An international model who used to be active in Hong Kong, Gwendoline Cretton, is believed to have been killed by her partner in Bangkok, Thailand last week.

According to the Bangkok Post, the 24-year-old was believed to have been represented by modeling agency CalCarries International Management, which also handles other famous names such as Gaile Lok and Danielle Graham.

Cretton, who also held a Swiss passport, was murdered at her home in the Prawet district of Bangkok on the evening of July 18.

She was reportedly stabbed nine times to death. Three men, namely the suspect and two neighbours that helped the man involved who shouted for help, took the victim's body to a car.

Thai media reported that her husband, whose name has been withheld, took his wife to hospital and later told Thai police that the victim was trying to kill herself.

The police suspect that the man's actions were done to cover up a murder.

CalCarries International Management previously told the South China Morning Post that a woman matching the deceased's name, appearance, and age had worked for the company for many years until her contract expired this year.

The company on Wednesday said it was unable to contact the model for verification because she no longer works for them.

Cretton's most recent shoot with the agency was an ad for an Italian fashion brand, photos of which were posted on social media in late January.

Posts on social media also indicated that Cretton was actively working with different makeup artists for photo shoots.

Some of her modeling photos date back to as early as 2018.

Hong Kong's Immigration Department said it had not received any requests for assistance in relation to the case.
