KUALA LUMPUR: Despite no longer being involved in any controversial issue, actress Sophia Albarakbah claims that she is still being attacked on social media.
The 31-year-old actress shared this in a news report today and added that she was still wondering where had she gone wrong to become a constant target of cyberbullies.
"It doesn't matter whether I had done something wrong or not, it seems like I'm an easy target for them to pick on," she said.
Sophia added that although it seemed like nothing could shake her, there were times when the negative comments got to her.
"I'd be lying if I said that they did not affect me in some way or other, but I try not to react and worse still, let it lead me to do something rash."
She added that there was an instance when those negative remarks had made her seek help from a therapist.
However, Sophia said that she was also fortunate to have a good support system made up of family and close friends.
"And luckily, my love for my work also drives me to make myself a stronger person.
"I hope netizens can feel more empathy before deciding to type out negative comments, as such words may badly impact someone's emotional and mental well-being," she said.
