#SHOWBIZ: AKB48 Group's stellar performance

OVER 2,000 fans were thoroughly entertained by the first-ever AKB48 Group concert in Malaysia recently.

The Japanese idol musical girl group's 'Live in KL 2024 — First Cry' concert saw fans from as far as Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia flock to Zepp KL to catch AKB48, as well as STU48 (Japan), Quadlips (multinational), JKT48 (Indonesia), and KLP48 (Malaysia).

With glow sticks and captivating visuals illuminating the hall, fans sang and chanted along to catchy tunes such as 'Catch Me Kiss Me' and 'Overdrive' by Quadlips, 'Ai no Omosa' and 'Kurayami' by STU48, 'Rapsodi' and 'Fortune Cookie Yang Mencinta' by JKT48, as well as 'Everyday, Kachuusha' and 'Koi Tsun Jatta' by AKB48.

Fresh off the announcement of their first-generation members, KLP48 made their debut at the concert with a music video premiere and inaugural performance of their first single, 'Heavy Rotation', in Malay,

alongside songs in English, Mandarin, and Japanese that showcased their versatility.

The group also unveiled their captain, Yi Shyan, in addition to the KLP48 Official Fan Club that will provide fans with access to exclusive content.

The memorable three-hour show, organised by 48 Entertainment in collaboration with iMe Malaysia, concluded with all five groups sharing the stage to perform AKB48's signature song, 'Aitakatta'.

The 39 performers stayed on for a meet-and-greet session, followed by a post-concert conversation with fans.
