KUALA LUMPUR: "Both Rich and I are still husband and wife," says singer Velvet Aduk when asked about rumours that her marriage was on the rocks.
The 37-year-old singer said although there were times when married life was not a bed of roses, they both had never come to the point where they'd be thinking about divorce.
"Maybe these rumours started when people didn't see me sharing things about my personal life on social media nowadays.
"So when I don't share anything to show how happy we currently are, maybe those who follow me on social media began to wonder and speculate," she told reporters when met at the press conference of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra's Sounds Of Borneo concert held here yesterday.
"At my age now, I rarely share about my personal life on social media anymore. As I'm very focus on my work, I only share things related to that with my fans and followers.
"Being where I am now, I prefer to keep my private life private, just to protect my family's privacy.
"We're happier that way," she said.
Velvet married fellow singer from her home state Rich Gimbang in 2008 and they have four children.
