KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Aufahanie Mokhtar, 21, misses her brother Nidza Afham, 23, dearly.
Even though they didn't live under the same roof, technology made it easy for them to keep in touch and they were close.
He was believed to have gone jogging at the Sultan Suleiman Stadium in Klang alone before his disappearance was noticed on Aug 13.
A day later, his body was found in the Klang River.
Aufahanie said she didn't eat or sleep because she was too worried about her brother.
"Among the seven siblings, he was the kindest, diligent and strong in spirit. He had always put his family first.
"He would think of father and mother, his brothers and sisters and then himself. I know how good he was.
"He was my friend, we laughed, sang, I would borrow this and that from him, asked him to send me here and there, and he would do it all without complaining," she said in a Berita Harian report today.
She added that the former participant in the third season of the I Can See Your Voice Malaysia reality programme was never a calculative person and even if he was tired, would comply with her requests.
"I could share anything with him and I would cry with him when I was sad. He would always help too, including in financial matters.
"His kindness was reflected in the presence of relatives and friends at the Shah Alam Hospital where his body was taken to for the post-mortem.
"Apart from that, more than 500 people were at the Bandar Puncak Alam Islamic Cemetery in Kuala Selangor to see him off," she said.
Aufahanie added that they were separated when young when their parents divorced but their relationship became strong when they grew up.
"However, he rarely shared his feelings after he met his girlfriend named Miera.
"I also know that he had plans to marry Miera but that was not fated to be. He was saving money for it.
"Only God knows how sad it was to see the family's picture used as the wallpaper on his phone.
"I'm at a loss for words, but we need to be strong for our mother," she said.
