KUALA LUMPUR: Former Hong Kong Category 3 actress Amy Yip recently hosted a dinner party for her friends and had a special Malaysian fish served.
In a Weibo post on Sept 1, veteran media personality Wong Man Ling praised Yip, 58, as a gracious host.
She shared a group picture with 19 people, one of Yip giving a speech and another of the dishes served.
Wong revealed that Yip had ordered a 1.8kg empurau fish from Malaysia for the dinner.
"Amy ordered the fish from Malaysia. It was delicious," she said.
Known as the King Of River Fish, the empurau is the most expensive freshwater fish in Malaysia, with prices as high as RM1,800 per kilogram.
Wong said that Yip forked out RM4,442 for a lucky draw, where each winner received RM555. The grand prize was worth RM1,110.
Yip has been living a low-key life since retiring from acting in 1997.
Yip said last year that she was open to participating in films as long as the roles and scripts offered were interesting.
