KUALA LUMPUR: The management team of actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin is suing five individuals identified as having made slanderous statements regarding her impending divorce.
Berita Harian reported this today, quoting her syariah legal counsel Fakhrul Azman Abu Hassan as saying that they will issue a Letter Of Demand to those individuals soon.
"Her management team is disappointed with the statements made by these individuals, which are deemed slanderous. What they said is not true.
"We just want to say that we have identified these individuals and our further actions will be assisted by the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
"Lawsuits will also be filed against any parties who have made slanderous statements since the divorce was filed until today," he told reporters outside the Petaling Syariah Court in Subang Bestari earlier today.
On Sept 19, the media quoted Fazura's manager Iman Tang as denying that Fazura had issued any official statement regarding the details of her divorce application.
Tang said neither the management, nor legal teams had issued any official statement regarding the matter too.
Earlier today, the court had postponed the divorce proceeding to Oct 7.
