FANS cheered, clapped, and celebrated South Indian stars Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, as well as acclaimed music composer G.V. Prakash Kumar during their visit to Anggun City in Rawang, Selangor recently.
They had flown in to promote the much-awaited biographical action drama, 'Amaran', to the delight of some 1,000 Tamil movie fans and supporters, including local artistes.
The film directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy tells the inspiring story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, an Indian Army officer who was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his extraordinary bravery during a counter-terrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014.
Sivakarthikeyan's portrayal of Major Mukund has already captivated Tamil movie fans through the film's official teaser, with many lauding his remarkable physical transformation and commitment to the role.
The film also marks the first collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, a doctor by profession.
Adapted from the book, 'India's Most Fearless' by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, Amaran's narrative promises to take viewers on a powerful journey of sacrifice, patriotism, and heroism.
The official teaser has already amassed an impressive 26 million views online, further amplifying excitement for the film.
DMY Creation founder and chairman Datuk Muhammad Yusoff, who was responsible for bringing the stars to Malaysia for the film's promotion and a meet-and-greet session, said he was proud to be part of the project.
"It is an honour for DMY Creation to be involved in promoting 'Amaran', a film that goes beyond the battlefield to tell a story of courage, sacrifice and the love of a soldier for his country.
"The movie, expected to be released on Deepavali (Oct 31), is sure to strike a chord with Malaysian audiences," he said.
Muhammad Yusoff added that the film, produced by multi-talented actor Kamal Haasan's production house in collaboration with Sony Pictures International Productions, is set to be a standout release this year.
DMY Creation has enjoyed significant success in Malaysian cinemas in recent times through blockbusters such as 'Raayan', 'Thangalaan' and 'Salaar'.
