KUALA LUMPUR: The wife of popular comedian Shuib of Sepahtu fame, Watie Hanifiah, recently disclosed that her husband has increased the amount of her nafkah (subsistence) payments compared to before.
Watie, whose full name is Fati Nikmatul Adawiyah Hanifiah, took to social media recently to share a screenshot of a bank transfer from Shuib, highlighting the higher amount of payment.
While she did not reveal the exact sum, she confirmed it was more than what she previously received.
The 36-year-old entrepreneur and influencer speculated that the publicised divorce of actors Fazura and Fattah Amin may have influenced Shuib's decision to be more mindful about nafkah payments.
"Alhamdulillah, since the Fattzura case, my husband has increased the amount," she said.
"Even though I've never complained, maybe he took it as an unspoken lesson."
Watie also offered advice to married couples, encouraging tolerance and mutual understanding.
"We should learn from the experiences of others," she said.
"Marriage is about going through life together—sharing the joy, facing challenges, and supporting one another until the end."
Recently, the issue of nafkah became a trending topic on social media, following Fazura's revelation that it was a key factor in her divorce from Fattah Amin.
