KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran Hong Kong actress Lily Li has died of lung cancer. She was 74.
China Press reported yesterday that the news was announced by veteran media personality Wong Man Ling on Oct 28.
In a Weibo post, Wong revealed that Li died of lung cancer on Oct 27.
The former TVB star was reportedly diagnosed with the illness a few years ago, though it was only recently that her condition worsened.
Li embarked on her showbiz journey, which spanned nearly six decades, after joining the Shaw Brothers' training programme when she was 11 years old.
The actress joined TVB in 1988 and remained with the broadcaster until her retirement in 2020, concluding a 32-year career with the company.
Li's notable dramas included The Wandering Swordsman, Executioners From Shaolin, Beyond The Realm Of Conscience, and Demi-Gods And Semi-Devils.
Her last TV appearance was as Grandma Tao in the drama Forensic Heroes IV.
