KUALA LUMPUR: Popular Indonesian singer-actress Cinta Laura admits that the most important quality a movie star should possess is humility, and that means not forgetting his or her roots.
The University of Columbia graduate said in a recent news report that there were some artistes in her country who behaved like "kings, queens and demigods" and were rather aloof when interacting with others.
"I've seen one such artiste with seven assistants who do almost everything for their boss.
"And this person even got an assistant to carry shoes and help wear them," said Cinta.
"Imagine how these assistants feel. Such a person has clearly forgotten his or her roots."
Cinta's comment on her Instagram page was hailed by netizens. Many of them praised her for being a star who remained humble and down to earth, and urged those who "lived like royalty" to emulate her.
Cinta, 31, is of German, Bugis and Chinese heritage and began her acting career in the early 2000s.
She is best known for starring in the films Oh Baby, 3 Pilihan Hidup and Mati Anak, and the drama series Upik Abu Dan Laura.
She is also a singer who has two studio albums and her popular songs include Pengkhianat Cinta, Oh Baby and Let's Get The Beat.
