#SHOWBIZ: Quincy Jones laid to rest at private family funeral in Los Angeles

KUALA LUMPUR: Legendary music producer Quincy Jones was laid to rest in a private family ceremony in Los Angeles, a week after his passing at 91.

Known for his influence across seven decades in music, Jones left an indelible mark on the industry, and his family is planning a larger public memorial to honour his life and legacy, according to ABC News Online.

The intimate ceremony, attended by Jones' seven children, his brother, two sisters, and close relatives, was held at an undisclosed location.

In a statement to The Associated Press, the family expressed gratitude for the global outpouring of condolences and tributes and shared that details of a public celebration of Jones' life will be announced soon.

Quincy Jones died peacefully at his home in Bel Air on Nov 3, surrounded by loved ones.

His career included producing Michael Jackson's iconic Thriller album, composing award-winning film scores, and collaborating with artistes like Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles.

Tributes poured in from major figures across media and politics, including a special tribute on Saturday Night Live.

Instead of flowers, the family requests donations to the Jazz Foundation of America to continue Jones' support for the music community.
