KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran actress Ku Fridah Ku Shafie, better known as Mak Engku, 71, has been receiving treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor for a neck injury sustained during a recent fall in her bathroom. She has been hospitalised for 10 days.
Actress Sharifah Shahora, 49, shared details of Mak Engku's condition following her visit to the hospital alongside fellow artiste Datin Nina Juren and director Hadith Omar.
"I discovered Mak Engku had been admitted when I called to check on her.
"During our visit, she looked frail, unable to walk, and ate slowly.
"Despite this, she was visibly happy to see us," Shahora told Harian Metro.
Doctors are conducting various tests, including preparations to extract bone marrow fluid, as part of her treatment.
Shahora added that the medical team is also monitoring Mak Engku's heart condition.
"Her son informed me that the procedure might be carried out next week.
"For now, she has been moved to a general ward and is allowed visitors," Shahora said.
She encouraged friends in the entertainment industry to visit Mak Engku and offer their support.
Earlier, Shahora took to Instagram to update fans about Mak Engku's condition, revealing that the actress had sustained a fractured neck from the fall.
Fans have since been praying for her speedy recovery.
