KUALA LUMPUR: The Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur's (JFKL) JFF Theatre, launched last August, unveils eight Japanese films for the year-end holiday season.
This free global streaming platform features a curated selection of Japanese films with Malay, English, and Chinese subtitles.
From November 2024 to February 2025, viewers can enjoy titles such as Under The Open Sky, Her Love Boils Bathwater, Key Of Life, Moon Of A Sleepless Night, Norman The Snowman – The Northern Lights, Norman The Snowman – On A Night Of Shooting Stars, Gon The Little Fox, and Pukkulapottas And Hours In The Forest.
According to a statement from JFKL today, JFF Theatre is now a permanent platform that meets global demand for Japanese cinema and fosters cultural exchange.
"With titles updated every one to three months, viewers worldwide can register to enjoy a constantly refreshed lineup anytime and anywhere," it added.
For Malaysian viewers, JFKL is hosting a quiz with exclusive goodies up for grabs.
Until Feb 1, 2025, participants who watch any three of the eight movies and answer one question per film will be eligible.
"This fun initiative deepens understanding of Japanese cinema and encourages engagement with the films," said JFKL.
