#SHOWBIZ: Singer Nora, children undergo therapy for emotional resilience

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer Datuk Nora Ariffin has revealed that she and her children have been attending therapy sessions with a psychiatrist to safeguard their mental health amidst a challenging year.

Nora, 51, shared that the therapy, ongoing for six months, has brought significant progress to their emotional well-being, Harian Metro reported.

"If you ask how I've coped after so many trials, including the recent passing of my mother, I've been seeing a psychiatrist for six months.

"My children attend sessions too," she said.

The singer emphasised that seeking therapy is a preventive measure rather than a sign of poor mental health.

"Life brings many trials, and raising children alone is especially challenging.

"This step helps ensure we remain stable. Thankfully, it's been beneficial for all of us," added Nora, who is currently preparing for her first solo concert, scheduled for Dec 18.

Through therapy, Nora has gained valuable insights into self-improvement.

"I never claim to be perfect. I admit I've made mistakes, but I strive to be the best mother I can for my children," she said.

Raising her children without their biological father has been particularly demanding, especially with teenage daughters.

"Life is tough, but we have to face it head-on. I don't want my personal struggles or mistakes to negatively impact my children."

Nora's resilience comes after a string of personal challenges.

On Nov 19, she lost her beloved mother, Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Earlier, Nora faced public scrutiny following controversial videos about her divorce and disputes with her stepdaughter.
