KUALA LUMPUR: Amid allegations that actress Rozita Che Wan has failed to repay a loan from Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), her husband, actor Zain Saidin, has assured the public they are addressing the issue.
However, he refrains from sharing details, emphasising it is a private matter involving his wife, according to Kosmo! Online.
"We are working on it, but not everything needs to be disclosed. People might listen to one side of the story and attack us because they don't have the full picture," said Zain, 40, during a TikTok live broadcast recently.
He explained that his role as a husband is to support Rozita, popularly known as Che Ta.
"I can't share everything because it's not my business to disclose. I'm here to support my wife where I can."
Zain also expressed forgiveness toward those who criticised them.
"If you want to attack, go ahead. That's your right. I forgive everyone, even though they might not know the whole truth."
He further clarified misconceptions surrounding Mara's loan programme, questioning why a large organisation would only have RM1 million to allocate.
"If RM1 million is gone, does that mean others can't get assistance? It's more complex than that," he said.
Meanwhile, Zain revealed that Che Ta, 51, has been avoiding media inquiries, feeling disheartened by the situation.
"She's so distressed that she blocks anyone who tries to contact her. We're not running away from our responsibilities, but sometimes the articles are inaccurate."
The controversy surfaced after Mara officers, lawyers, and court representatives reportedly raided Che Ta's residence over an unpaid loan nearing RM1 million.
Although she is said to have repaid RM50,000, details about the repayment timeline remain unclear.
It was also reported that Rozita had recently visited Mara's office.
