KUALA LUMPUR: A famous comedian was reportedly arrested in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for allegedly possessing marijuana while on his way to perform Umrah recently.
The comedian is believed to have been arrested two months ago at Jeddah Airport and is still in custody for further investigation by Saudi Arabian authorities, Harian Metro reported.
The celebrity is also understood to have performed Umrah with his friends but was arrested after being suspected of carrying prohibited substances.
However, the celebrity is still seen to be active on social media with several new posts uploaded, but the content is believed to be managed by his management team.
In fact, the comedian was said to be about to appear on a television programme that was recorded in advance before the arrest incident occurred.
Meanwhile, Harian Metro is trying to obtain further information from the association, authorities and the comedian's family.
