CHERY Malaysia enters a dual-tiered partnership with Carsome to streamline vehicle trade-ins and enhance soft skills within the former brand's network of representatives.
The first of two Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a more seamless trade-in process was signed by Chery Auto Malaysia vice president Lee Wen Hsiang and Carsome Malaysia managing director Chris Ang Tee Wei during Chery's Annual Business Briefing held in Kuala Lumpur.
Customers can have Carsome conduct a vehicle inspection at their preferred location which is then promptly followed by a price offer for the trade-in vehicle.
Once the offer is accepted, customers can then hand over their old vehicle before or while collecting their new Chery vehicle.
Carsome is also holding a special campaign dedicated to Chery dealers by offering an additional RM500 on top of the trade-in-offer price for their customers who trade in their vehicles from now to Feb 15, 2024.
"We aim to collaborate with more automotive manufacturers at Carsome as part of our commitment to offer trust, transparency, and choice to customers, while enhancing the car buying and selling experience.
"Our collaboration with Chery is a step forward in that direction; it represents a milestone in expanding our network and touchpoints, furthering our mission to provide the best car ownership experience,"said Carsome co-founder and chief executive officer Eric Cheng.
"Our partnership with Chery enables us to offer customers upfront information on their car's trade-in value, facilitating a smoother transition to a new Chery vehicle," he added.
Meanwhile, the second agreement which aims to aims to bolster soft skills within Chery's network of representatives was formalised by Chery Auto Malaysia's Network Development director Soon Boon Ping and Carsome co-founder and Carsome Academy chief executive officer Jiun Ee Teoh.
The agreement will centre on four aspects: upskilling Chery's existing and new workforce through specialised training programs, extending the Peneraju Skil Motor Vehicle Inspection Programme to enhance the skills and knowledge of Chery's workforce, providing on-the-job (OTJ) training and work placements at Chery for Carsome Academy students under the Sistem Latihan Dual Nasional (SLDN) model, and engaging in mutually agreed marketing initiatives to foster collaboration and growth.
Lee Wen Hsiang said both collaborations were timely for the company's growing customer base over the months since the brand debut in July last year.
"The collaboration with Carsome will be beneficial and important for our dealers, especially with the increase in customers who seek to trade in their old cars for a new Chery vehicle," he added
According to Lee, ensuring the importance of Chery's customer service becomes a crucial step for the brand's future success with the increase in workforce, including sales representatives and managers, as part of its plans to expand showrooms to 48 outlets by the end of 2024.
