KUALA LUMPUR: THE next time you need a football, running shoes, gym bag or any equipment or apparel associated with sports, check out Lot 10 Shopping Centre’s brand new Sports Hub.
Located on the third floor of the mall, Sports Hub is a sports enthusiast’s dream come true. Any gear you need for any sport is all there for the asking.
At the recent launch of Sports Hub, YTL Land & Development Bhd vice-president Joseph Yeoh said the third floor of Lot 10 had undergone some major changes.
“The entire third floor spanning 1,951 sq m, which makes up the new Sports Hub, offers customers a chance to browse products from brands such as Converse, Hoops Station, Hundred%, LFC, Nike Women’s, TFC and The Marathon Shop.
“Sports Hub is designed to be the simulation of a sports arena complete with a scaled-down futsal court, basketball half-court and a running track.
“Aimed at inspiring the ‘athlete within’, a key objective for the Lot 10 Sports Hub is to emphasise the importance of a healthy lifestyle and to encourage the youth, working adults and professionals to be active in sports and fitness,” he said.
National football icon Abbas Saad made an appearance and obliged the audience with a display of his football juggling skills at the launch.
Later, he played futsal with the children from Rumah Juara Glad Tidings and Rainbow Home at the Sports Hub’s futsal centre.
The event also saw Abbas, Yeoh, YTL Land Sdn Bhd executive director Eric Eoon, and Nike Sales Malaysia country marketing manager Robin Kok going for the finish line on the track that runs outside the sports stores.
Streets checked out two stores, Converse and TFC, and came away impressed.
At the first store, shop manager Haiqel Zulkifli said both sports and fashion buffs could now purchase the iconic American sneakers in low-cut, high-cut, Chuck Taylor and platform designs at prices ranging from RM149.90 to RM336.
“Our new men’s Cons Weapon basketball shoes are a hit with basketball players and retails at RM339.90 per pair.
“Skateboarders also love our brand and our Cons-Skateboard range is very popular.
“While most of our shoes are made of canvas, we also offer Converse shoes in synthetic leather, real leather and suede.
“The brand is loved around the world,” he said.
At TFC, Streets was taken on a tour of the store by manager Ting Chun Chew.
“TFC stands for Topper Football Club. We offer all kinds of football products for football and futsal aficionados.
“Everything in the store is original, including the jerseys. We offer the kits of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Barcelona and other international clubs, well as of our own Malaysia Cup teams.
“The price of a jersey generally ranges from RM260 to RM519.
“We also offer footballs, futsal and football boots from brands like Nike, Adidas and Puma.
“For the goalkeepers, we have gloves from Nike and Adidas and the German brand Uhlsport, which are sold at RM649 a pair.
