RAWANG: A fire erupted this afternoon at a two-storey shop lot in Taman Perindustrian Integrasi Rawang, with firefighters arriving on the scene within five minutes of the emergency call.
According to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, the blaze originated at the Curry House on Jalan R 2/2.
Firefighters from Rawang Fire Station reached the site at 1.50pm, just five minutes after receiving the call, thanks to its proximity — only 2km away.
The fire spread rapidly, damaging 80 per cent of the upper floor of the Class A shop lot, which measures 15 x 50 feet.
Fortunately, there were no reported casualties.
A total of seven firefighters were involved in the operation, supported by one fire rescue tender (FRT), an emergency medical response services (EMRS) vehicle, and a utility vehicle.
