GEORGE TOWN: LOOKING vivacious in a figure-hugging kebaya, second-year student Tneh Joo Huei, 23, beat 14 other hopefuls to win the Kebaya Queen title at the fifth Ratu Kebaya pageant held at Kompleks Bukit Jambul here recently.
Tneh, who also bagged the Miss Photogenic title, said it was a pleasant surprise for her.
“It’s my first big win after taking part in a few other beauty competitions.
“The kebaya brings out the femininity in women.
“More women should wear the kebaya as it is an attractive traditional attire. It was popular in the 50s and 60s.”
She won RM3,000, a three-day two-night stay at Lotus Desaru Beach Resort in Johor, a trophy and other prizes.
