PETALING JAYA - Hundreds of people have turned up for the first-ever "I Want To Touch A Dog" event.
Held at Central Park, One Utama, the event is aimed at helping the general public overcome the negative perception of dogs and foster respect between dog owners and members of the public regardless of age, race and religion.
Malaysians from all walks of life have turned up to take part in the event, which will see members of the public pet and learn to interact with dogs.
Attendees will also learn the proper way to perform sertu (cleansing).
There are also a panel of Malay speakers , including a veterinarian, animal rescuer, a Muslim scholar and a taxi driver who offers his services for the guard-dog assisted blind community to share their knowledge and encourage better understanding about dogs
