KUALA LUMPUR: The construction sector recorded a 10.7 per cent growth to RM25.3 billion in the third quarter.
According to the Statistics Department, the sector only enjoyed a marginal increase of 0.5 per cent against the second quarter.
The sector has been registering positive growth since the third quarter of 2011.
The highest percentage share in the third quarter was contributed by the construction of non-residential buildings sub-sector, which recorded a 34.5 per cent growth.
This was followed by civil engineering sub-sector (31 per cent), re-sidential buildings (30 per cent) and special trades (4.5 per cent).
Selangor recorded the highest value of construction work done at RM6.21 billion, or 24.6 per cent, followed by Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory (17.2 per cent) and Johor (16.2 per cent).
