WOMEN’S doubles player Ng Hui Lin confirmed yesterday that she had quit the national team.
Hui Lin's decision to leave the BA of Malaysia (BAM) came just a month after her younger sister Ng Hui Ern’s resignation.
Hui Lin, 25, who had not had a regular partner since returning to the national fold in June after completing her studies in England, revealed that she was disappointed with the poor planning of the national body.
“I am very sad and disappointed with BAM’s poor planning.
“I don't have a regular partner and I don't get chances to improve on my world rankings if I am not given chance to compete.
“We are registered for tournaments and two weeks before competing, we get news that the budget is cut and we are not going.
“How can things like this happen?” said Hui Lin, who handed in her letter yesterday.
The Loughborough University graduate added that she is now looking forward to build her career in the corporate world.
“I don't think I will be involved in badminton after this. I have sent out my resumes and hopefully hear from possible employers soon.
“I am going to miss all my teammates and coaches, but I had to make this decision.”
