KUALA TERENGGANU: Flood situation in four districts of the state improved this morning as the number of evacuees dropped to 32,784 people from 7,981 families compared to 35,965 victims from 8,836 families yesterday.
State Welfare Department portal said as at 7.30am, the number of relief centres also reduced from 92 to 77 this morning.
Kemaman still has the highest number of victims with 21,738 people from 5,074 families at 33 relief centres.
This was followed by Dungun with 10,138 victims from 2,696 families seeking shelter at 34 centres while Kuala Terengganu remained with six relief centres housing 759 people of 195 families.
In Hulu Terengganu, 149 victims from 34 families moved to four relief centres.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is scheduled to visit flood victims in Dungun this morning.
