30pc discount for ECE users

KUANTAN: East Coast Expressway (ECE) users can enjoy a 30 per cent discount if they choose to exit at the Gambang Toll Plaza and use the trunk road between Jan 1 and Jan 3.

ECE concessionaire Anih Berhad president and chief executive officer Datuk Dr Azmil Khalid said the discount will be effective on Jan 1, starting from 12.01am until 11.59pm on Jan 3.

He said the discount offered to motorists was part of the company's initiative to help reduce the burden and difficulties faced by road users due to the recent floods that resulted in certain stretches to be cut-off.

Motorists travelling from the East Coast to Kuala Lumpur can use the alternative trunk road at Gambang (Gambang - Kota Perdana - Muadzam Shah - Bandar Tun Razak - Bandar Sri Jempol - Kuala Pilah – Senawang - Kuala Lumpur)

The discounted toll rate applies to all vehicles for both cash and electronic (Touch ‘n Go and Smart Tag).

A 800-metre stretch at Km124 and Km126 of the ECE, near Temerloh has been inundated since Saturday.

Although the water has started to recede, it is still not passable by any vehicle.

ECE starts from Gombak, on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak highway, and ends in Jabor, Terengganu.
