KUALA LUMPUR: ROCK star Lenny Kravitz is slated to perform at the Formula One Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix after-race concert on March 29 in Sepang.
Joining Kravitz for the weekend of musical celebration is the iconic group The Jacksons, who will return to Malaysia following its massive 2012 Unity Tour at Stadium Negara. The Jacksons will entertain guests at the Malaysia Grand Prix Gala 2015 on March 26 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The international artiste line-up was announced by Sepang International Circuit chairman Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir at the official launch of 2015 Formula One Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix at Suria KLCC here tonight. The 17h edition of Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix weekend will take place from March 27 to 29.
The Jacksons will be taking the audience down memory lane at the gala with hits that include I'll Be There, I Want You Back, Rock With You, ABC, Can You Feel It, Ben and Can't Stop Till You Get Enough, among others.
This year’s Gala is in aid of BIDARA, a non-profitable charitable organization run by the wives of the Elected Representatives of Barisan Nasional Kedah. Their primary aim is to improve the quality of lives of the underprivileged and assist those in need and those affected by disasters.
Gala Tickets are priced at RM2,500 (VIP1), RM2,000 (VIP2), RM690 and RM290. All F1 Grand Prix ticket holders are also able to enjoy the after-race concert at no extra charge.
Speaking at the launch, Mokhzani said, "In conjunction with the Malaysia Year of Festival 2015, we are inspired to make the F1 Grand Prix a programme that celebrates the position of the race as an event that is firmly embedded in the public consciousness.
"We are focusing on the family-theme to draw them out of the living room into the high-octane atmosphere of the circuit itself. They can now enjoy an outing with their family and friends to Sepang on race weekend itself."
Also present were at the launch were Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib, SIC chief operating officer Datuk Razlan Razali and Petronas group senior general manager for strategic communications Liz Kamaruddin.
