A happy day for DPM Muhyiddin Yassin and family

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin took to Facebook to express his happiness over the wedding of his daughter, singer Najwa Mahiaddin, held earlier today.

Muhyiddin also extended his best wishes to Najwa, advising his daughter to be a faithful and committed wife to her husband Idris Koh Keng Hui.

“Najwa, be a devout and loyal wife, give your husband your devotion, and always be faithful to God throughout your life.”

“Ayah and Mama have done our best to teach and raise you to become a dutiful and successful daughter.”

“Ayah and Mama pray that Allah blesses you both with endless patience, serenity and happiness,” he wrote on his official Facebook account.

Muhyiddin himself had performed the wedding solemnisation ceremony during the akad nikah held at Sri Satria, the deputy prime minister’s official residence in Putrajaya.

The ceremony, performed at 11.40am, was witnessed by Imam Besar Masjid Putra Abdul Manaf Mat and Khatib Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee.

The event was attended by some 300 guests including the groom’s parents Chiam Juat Wah and Koh Lai Poo, family members and close friends.

Najwa, 28, is an accomplished singer and songwriter, having won two awards at the Anugerah Industri Muzik in 2011 before completing a degree in contemporary writing and production at the Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2013.

Idris, 29, is her long-time music coordinator and band-mate.
