Carmen Soo ties the knot

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and model Carmen Soo and her boyfriend Benson Tan exchanged their vows in Bali, Indonesia yesterday, thus beginning a new chapter in their lives as a married couple.

Malaysian singer Nicholas Teo, a family friend, was also present to officiate their union.

According to the couple's respective Instagram accounts, they also held a traditional Chinese tea ceremony with their respective families five days earlier.

"With the beautiful Bali sky, the Indian Ocean, our dearest celebrant Nicholas, our beloved families and dearest friends as witnesses, may we always have something to laugh about and cherish forever. Love you, Ben," said Soo in one of the photos from the couple's big day.

Soo, 38, a business management graduate who speaks Malay, English and Cantonese fluently, also learnt Tagalog specially for her television career in the Philippines a few years ago.

Soo began modelling when she was 17 and has appeared in countless TV and print commercials.

In 2008, she acted in the Philippines TV series Kahit Isang Saglit with Filipino actor Jericho Rosales.

Two years later she starred in the series Beautiful Girl opposite Filipino actor Christian Bautista.

Soo was the main actress in South East Asia'a first 3D film The Hunter directed by Bjarne Wong in 2012.

Her Malaysian movies include Baik Punya Cilok in 2005, Sayang You Can Dance in 2009, and Ghost Child in 2013.
