KUALA LUMPUR: Taiwanese pop idol A-Lin will perform at Stadium Malawati in Shah Alam on Dec 19 at 8pm.
The concert, dubbed A-Lin Sonar World Tour Live in Malaysia 2015, will also see the 32-year-old singer performing some of her well-known hits, including Woman in Love, All In, Moment Of The Light, Wo Men Hui Gen Hao De and Xiao Xiao De.
On her concert title, A-Lin said the inspiration came from the most intelligent animal in the ocean: The dolphins. Just like the dolphins who uses sonar to navigate their way in the ocean, A-Lin hoped that she can explore music and the world through the same means as well.
The singer who is of Amis descent (one of Taiwan’s aboriginal tribes) has also recorded a 30-second promotional clip to pay homage to her roots.
Before making her official debut in the music industry in 2006, A-Lin or Huang Li Ling, was often spotted performing at a local bar in Taiwan. All thanks to her powerful vocals, in which music critics nicknamed her “a born diva”, she is often compared to another veteran singer Zhang Hui Mei, otherwise known as A-mei among fans.
A-Lin has won numerous music awards and is extremely popular within the Mandarin-speaking world. She has released a total of 10 albums throughout her career, including an EP and greatest hits. Of the albums, five were nominated at the Golden Melody Awards (GMA), a Taiwan music awards that is equivalent to the US’ Grammys.
Ever since appearing in the third season of the China-based reality singing competition I Am A Singer, A-Lin’s popularity skyrocketed.
Tickets to the A-Lin Sonar World Tour Live in Malaysia 2015 are priced between RM288 and RM618. The prices include 6 per cent GST but exclude its RM4 for processing fee.
