MANILA: New Zealand Prime Minister John Key presented Datuk Seri Najib Razak with a nostalgic gift after their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Apec Summit here today.
It was a book containing newspaper clippings and archive photos of Tun Abdul Razak Hussein’s visits to New Zealand in 1967 and 1975.
In the book, the New Zealand premier wrote: “Najib, I thought you might like this record of your father’s trips to New Zealand. Kind Wishes, John Key PM.”
Najib and Key are in the Philippine capital to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Leaders Summit, which starts today.
The Apec economies are Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, United States, and Vietnam.
Apec represents a market of about three billion people, and accounts for half of global trade, 60 per cent of total GDP and much of the world’s growth.
