Actor, comedian Yus Jambu dies at 39

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor and comedian, Yus Jambu, 39 or his real name, Yussry Edoo died last night believed to be due to difficulty of breathing.

Yus Jambu or better known as Pak Yus had earlier performed at Dataran Merdeka last night.

However, he suffered from breathing difficulties and was rushed to Selayang Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Malaysia Karyawan Association (Karyawan) general manager Ahmad Abdullah said Pak Yus was involved in the Raja Band Programme organised by Karyawan and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) at Dataran Merdeka.

“Pak Yus had performed with his band Lima Bara as a guest artist. After performing three songs, he returned home at 11.30pm.

About half an hour later, Pak Yus’ aid called and informed that he was rushed to the hospital and had passed away,” said Ahmad Abdullah.

Pak Yus’ career started when he took part in TV3’s talent show — Sinaran Pasport Kegemilangan in 2001. Despite not winning the competition, Pak Yus continued his efforts and enrolled into Astro’s Raja Lawak.

Pak Yus was announced as the winner of the talent show on March 11, 2007.

He is expected to be laid to rest in his hometown in Kg Nesam, Batu Pahat, Kangar Perlis today..
