KUALA LUMPUR: Police will record a statement from former PetroSaudi executive Xavier Andre Justo in Bangkok on Dec 15.
Bukit Aman CID deputy director (investigation and law) Datuk Amar Singh said that he will be heading the special police investigative mission to Bangkok on that date.
"Our counterparts in Bangkok have given the approval for us to interview Justo," said Amar when contacted.
Justo, who is a Swiss national, was sentenced to three years jail on Aug 17 after pleading guilty to blackmailing his former employer PetroSaudi International.
He was arrested at his house on Samui Island in the southern province of Surat Thani on June 22 after officials from PetroSaudi filed a complaint that Justo attempted to blackmail the company for 2.5 million Swiss francs with documents stolen from the company.
He was sought after by the Malaysian police to facilitate investigation into issues surrounding 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
