GEORGE TOWN: Police have recorded a statement from a man caught on dashcam, driving against the flow of traffic, along Jalan Masjid Negeri here.
Police came across the 39-second dashcam recording, which was uploaded on X by an account user update11111, about 3pm yesterday.
Northeast district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Razlam Ab Hamid, said the recording showed a blue car being driven against the flow of traffic.
"Checks showed that the incident happened at 4.48pm on Saturday.
"We have recorded a statement from the local male driver, in his 20s," he said today.
The case is being investigated under Section 79(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
"We urge the public not to speculate, or to further viral the recording," he added.
As of yesterday morning, the recording had been viewed over 4,600 times.
