Company director freed of CBT charges

SHAH ALAM: A managing director walked out the courtroom a free man today after the Sessions Court here acquitted and discharged him of two counts of criminal breach of trust involving RM20,200 in sales proceeds.

Ng Boon Han, 34, was freed without having his defence called after the court found that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against him.

In his decision, judge Zamri Bakar said the figures of the alleged misappropriated amount differed from each prosecution witnesses who testified.

"The statements by the witnesses varied and there were three different amounts mentioned by three witnesses," he said.

Ng was alleged to have misappropriated RM14,200 and RM6,000 gained from sales proceeds from his clients M & J Renovation and J Concept respectively.

He was charged with committing the offence in his capacity as one of the directors of the company at Han Lee Cabinet Sdn Bhd, in Jalan PTP Taman Perindustrian Tasik Perdana, Sepang between Oct 15, 2014 and Feb 28 this year.

Ng was represented by counsel Ng Chung Yee.
