KUALA LUMPUR: Footballers showing their skills inside the Senai International Airport terminal, and a special cameo by Tengku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim - these were among the contents of a stylish video commercial to promote the new Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) football kits.
The three-minute long video, featuring the team's new Adidas kits, showcases the team's star players such as Safiq Rahim, Safee Sali, and Amri Yahyah demonstrating their skills within the airport terminal.
Tunku Ismail, the team's owner, also made a cameo in the video, seen looking on in bemusement in his private jet as his players kick up a storm on the tarmac.
The Johor Football Association (JFA) today officially unveiled the new kits set to be used by the JDT squad in its two campaigns, the Malaysian Super League and the AFC Champions League.
The jerseys feature three different designs in red, white and blue, representing the colours of the Johor state flag.
The launch was officiated by state youth, sports and culture exco chairman Datuk Zulkurnain Kamisan here, in the presence of around 5,000 JDT supporters.
The launch was also broadcast simultaneously via large screens in selected locations in several districts.
Priced at RM189 each, the jerseys will first see action tomorrow, when JDT, who are reigning Asian club champions, take on Thailand's Chonburi FC in Bangkok tomorrow.
