KUANTAN: A four-year-old boy was killed when a car from the opposite direction rammed into the car he was travelling in at Jalan Kuantan Bypass today.
In the 8.15am incident, the victim Muhammad Khairul Irfan Mohd Khairul Amry, who sits at the front passenger seat died on the spot due to severe head injuries.
A police spokesman said initial investigations revealed that a Perodua Alza from Semambu heading towards Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Airport suddenly skidded and entered into the opposite lane.
“The car then rammed into a Perodua Myvi that was driven by Khairul Irfan’s mother and another Perodua Kancil.
“Khairul Irfan’s body then was sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital together with all three drivers.”
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
It is believed that the victim is a son of a police from the patrol unit at the district police headquarters (IPD) here.
Khairul Irfan will be buried in Kg Aur Telong, Bachok after the post-mortem.
