The Viper Challenge, which comprises obstacle courses that test physical endurance and teamwork, has been held since 2013. This will be the first time it is being held outside the Klang Valley.
Sunway Iskandar Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Gerard Soosay said the event was in line with Sunway's plan to foster a vibrant community in its development in Medini, Iskandar Malaysia.
“We want to encourage the community to get active and enjoy the outdoors. In line with Sunway Property's theme for 2016, ‘Living Sunway, Living Community’, we are continuously looking for means to create healthy lifestyles for the community and opportunities for them to relate to each other,” he said.
Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Khairil Anwar Ahmad supported the Viper Challenge being held in Medini as the new township has been a venue for running and cycling events in the past.
Meanwhile, Viper Challenge operations director Simran Latif said the challenging terrain around Medini was chosen for the event as it was suitable for its 20km obstacle course.
“The area is a perfect fit, and it could be one that may rival previous locations such as Sepang,” said Simran.
More than 4,000 tickets have been sold for the event. Tickets can be purchased online at www.viperchallenge.com.
