KUCHING: PKR has called on Barisan Nasional to present the report cards of their previous assemblymen in Ba’kelalan so the people can evaluate for themselves the progress brought by the party in the area.
PKR incumbent for Ba’kelalan, Baru Bian claimed BN had done little to develop the remote area before he won the seat in 2011.
“They had 48 years to develop Ba’kelalan but what have they done in those years?," he said.
He added that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem should consider presenting the report cards of previous assemblymen so their achievements could be evaluated.
He said this in a statement delivered by party operation director Lynette Tan, during a press conference at the PKR headquarters, near here.
On the issue of land rights, Baru said providing a RM100 million allocation to survey native customary rights (NCR) land in Sarawak and Sabah would not solve the people’s problems.
He claimed Barisan Nasional had no clue about the details of NCR claims faced by the natives of Sarawak.
On Friday, Najib said the opposition should not be talking about NCR land issues as it was being resolved by BN.
