LINGGI: Rescuers searching for the remaining three helicopter crash victims here have found another body at the Batang Lupar river about 3.20pm today.
The body, the fourth victim found so far since yesterday, was clad in a long-sleeved shirt, trousers and black office shoes.
Sarawak deputy police commissioner Datuk Abdul Aziz Yusof said the remains were spotted by a team of marine policemen some 0.5 nautical miles from where the body of Datuk Noriah Kasnon was found yesterday.
Police divers brought the remains onboard a police PA17 boat before taking it to the Lingga Town jetty here where the search and rescue mission is based.
Aziz said the body was found floating near the river bank some five nautical miles downstream from the jetty.
Upon arrival at the jetty about 4.30pm, the body was examined by a team of police forensics Disaster Victims Identification Unit.
Aziz said the victim's remains will be taken to Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching on board a military helicopter.
It is learnt that personal belongings, believed to be a wallet, was also found on the victim's body.
However, what the item is will only be determined when the body arrives at the hospital for checks by forensics experts.
