KUALA LUMPUR: From 2011 to April this year, a total of 28 cases have been recorded under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In a written reply to Gobind Singh Deo (DAP-Puchong) in Parliament today, Zahid said there was one case recorded in 2011, two in 2012, 2013 (3), 2014 (21); and 2016 (1).
“A total of 28 cases were investigated under OSA 1972 between 2011 and April 2016. From that total, six cases were brought to court within that period of time," said Zahid, who is also Deputy Prime Minister.
Gobind had asked Zahid on the number of people arrested under the Official Secrets Act 1972 since 2010, as well as the number of people accused and charged under the same Act.
