KUALA LUMPUR: After a decade long in the local music scene, singer-songwriter Faizal Tahir is thanking his lucky stars when he finally gets to collaborate with Malaysia’s No. 1 singer Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin.
He and Siti recently recorded a duet; a pop ballad tune entitled Dirgahayu, produced and composed by Faizal and his team comprising Mike Chan and Ezra Kong.
“This is one of the exclusive big projects which I’m currently busy with and I’m very excited for the release of this single,” said Faizal when met at Red Box and iAMFaithmen' s Hari Raya Open House at The Gardens in Mid Valley here today.
Speaking to the Press at the event which also saw him announcing the outcome of his charity campaign jointly organised by the entertainment centre and his charity arm project, Faizal, 38, who initially wanted to just mention briefly about the duet, seemed unable to keep the excitement all to himself, letting the "entire" cat out of the bag.
Recorded last week, the single is the result of an offer from Datin Zaiton Mohamad Jiwa's production house Global Station Sdn Bhd, who approached him on a possible duet with Siti.
Dirgahayu is set to be the soundtrack for Lara Aishah, Global Station's 100-episode drama directed by Muhamad Riza Baharuddin to be aired on Astro Prima (Channel 105).
In September, Faizal will release his brand new album entitled Anatomi Faizal Tahir.
Besides comprising four different versions of his hit tune Assalamualaikum, other tracks include Suriram, Sejati, Bukan Yang Pertama and Setia (a different version from the one he performed with Elizabeth Tan).
