PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad has been appointed as the new Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief, effective August 1.
Dzulkiffli, who is the Attorney General's Chambers’ National Revenue Recovery Enforcement Team director, will replace Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed.
Abu Kassim, who was appointed MACC chief commissioner on Jan 1, 2010, will assume a new role as an integrity consultant at Universiti Teknologi Mara’s (UiTM) Faculty of Law.
Announcing this in the statement today, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said Dzulkifli will serve as MACC chief commissioner until July 31, 2021.
Meanwhile, MACC deputy chief commissioner (prevention) Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali will take over as director-general of the Immigration Department, effective August 1.
Outgoing Immigration director-general Datuk Seri Sakib Kusmi will be placed at the Public Service Department.
Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (Mosti) secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Noorul Ainur Mohd Nur will take over as the new Higher Education Ministry secretary-general effective August 5, replacing Datuk Seri Dr Zaini Ujang.
Zaini will assume his role as the new Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry secretary-general, also on August 5.
Mosti deputy secretary-general (policy) Datuk Dr Mohd Azhar Yahaya has been promoted as the ministry's secretary-general.
