Ipoh International Run a hit among locals and foreigners

IPOH: More than 7,000 local and foreign participants joined the Ipoh International Run 2016, the biggest of such events held here.

They were flagged off by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir at Dataran MBI and competed in four categories, namely the 21km, 10km, 7km and 5km.

Among the participants were runners from Germany, India, The Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Ghana and Kenya.

For the first time, five mascots - Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Minion and Princess Elsa from Frozen also ran with them at the starting point.

Present were State Tourism, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi, Ipoh Mayor Datuk Zamri Man and Ipoh City Council secretary Mohd Zakka Zakaria.

Besides the run, spectators and participants were encouraged to join the Aerobics and Zumba sessions at Dataran MBI.
