KUANTAN: Deviant sect leader Harun Mat Saat, also known as Tuhan Harun, died at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) today.
His lawyer, Hermes Putra Media said the 50-year-old man, who suffered a stroke in 2013, was pronounced dead at 4.30pm.
He said Harun was undergoing treatment at the hospital to ascertain his health before testifying for a murder trial at the Kuantan High Court.
"I was informed he was given breathing assistance after suffering from lack of oxygen. I am still getting details," he said when contacted.
Last May, Harun who was charged with the murder of Pahang Islamic Religious Department enforcement chief Ahmad Raffli Abd Malek in 2013 and was ordered to enter his defence along with five of his followers.
