Boy in five-vehicle crash discharged from hospital

HULU SELANGOR: A five-year-old boy, who is the sole survivor of a car accident that claimed the lives of his immediate family this morning, has been discharged from hospital.

The boy, identified as Ahmad Faqih Nazmi, was the son of Corporal Ahmad Faizal Abdul Rahim, 33, who was killed in a crash involving five vehicles at KM405 of the Plus Highway earlier today.

It was learnt that Faqih sustained a broken right arm and light injuries on his forehead as a result of the tragedy.

A relative said Faqih was discharged at 11am and taken home by other relatives.

In the incident, Faizal, his wife Noorfazilah Mat Zani and his two children, Nur Aimi Nadhirah, eight, and Ahmad Fakhri Naim, three, perished in the 1.30am incident. Three people, including Faqih were injured.

Faizal's sister Habsah Abdul Rahim, 48, said before the tragedy, her brother had just sent their mother home at Pokok Assam in Taiping, Perak.

"He took our mother to his home in Malacca last week since he was on leave for a week.

"However, he called me up on Friday saying our mother wanted to return home. Since she is diabetic, I advised him to follow her request," she said when met at the hospital.

Habsah added that it was normal for Faizal to make a return journey late at night because he prefers to drive at night.
