KUALA LUMPUR: The Bersih 5 rally is set to be held in November.
This was confirmed by electoral reform group Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chin Abdullah, when contacted today.
However she declined to reveal details such as a specific date, venue, and purpose of the gathering, saying that details would be revealed during a press conference on Sept 14.
The group's street protest was reportedly being organised to press for action on the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) case after the United States government had filed a complaint over assets linked to the strategic investment firm.
The inaugural Bersih rally was in 2007, and the earlier rallies saw clashes between police and protesters.
The last rally, which took place in August last year, was a peaceful one, although there were some minor incidents.
The month after that, a Red Shirt rally was organised to counter the Bersih rally.
Maria currently faces an illegal assembly charge linked to the August (last year) Bersih gathering.
