KUANTAN: Tengku Mahkota of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah today urged the country’s leaders to find solutions to overcome disunity, especially among Muslims, in Malaysia.
He said it is time for leaders to work together to find ways to strengthen unity and enhance mutual understanding.
"Let’s embrace this year's theme of ‘Islamic Brotherhood, Fundamental to Unification of Muslims’ by fostering unity among us.
"I urge all leaders, religious officers and universities to carry out studies to identify the problem so that it can be rectified immediately," he said at the state-level Maal Hijrah celebration here today.
Also present at the event were Tengku Puan of Pahang, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob and exco members.
During the event, Pahang Islamic Religion and Malay Customs Council (Muip) deputy president Datuk Sri Wan Abdul Wahid Wan Hassan was named the state’s Tokoh Maal Hijrah.
He received a cash prize of RM10,000 and a certificate.
