KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry today announced that three days have been allocated for the Deepavali holidays for the 2016 schooling session.
In a circular on its website today, the ministry said the dates have been streamlined for the 2016 schooling session involving the Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Deepavali festivities.
The Deepavali holiday period for schools will begin on Oct 29 until Nov 1 for Kedah, Johor, Kelantan and Terengganu.
As for schools in Perlis, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Malacca, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territories Labuan and Putrajaya, the school holidays will begin on Oct 28 until November 1.
The ministry said all schools must abide by the allocated festival holidays, and the holidays need not be replaced.
